Summer Research Scholarships

The Research School of Biology offers Summer Research Scholarships and Summer Internships. ANU students are eligible to apply for a Summer Internship. External (i.e. non-ANU) students from Australia and New Zealand are eligible to apply for a Summer Research Scholarship.

Summer Research Scholarships and Summer Internships are designed for talented students from ANU and other tertiary institutions considering undertaking postgraduate research in the future. They are an excellent opportunity to carry out research under the supervision of researchers based in the Research School of Biology, utilising facilities and materials not readily available elsewhere.

As a result of Covid19 and associated travel restrictions, the Research School of Biology will only be offering Summer Research Internships (SRI) over this summer. The SRI program is only available to current ANU students in their 2nd or 3rd year of their studies. Successful applicants are awarded a weekly allowance of $350 for 9 weeks, commencing Monday 23th November 2020 and finishing on Friday 22nd January 2021 (with a break from Thursday 24th December to Sunday 3rd January, with pay, for the Christmas/New Year period). Applications are lodged online between 14th August and 11th September 2020. Late applications will not be considered.
