Anjeli Nathan Memorial Scholarship

Anjeli Nathan in the field. Anjeli Nathan in the field.

This scholarship commemorates the life of Anjeli Nathan, a promising ANU biology student who was killed in a car accident while studying meerkats in South Africa, in 1999. Anjeli graduated with First Class Honours and the University Medal in 1998, studying sibling rivalry in the Laughing Kookaburra, under the supervision of Andrew Cockburn and his PhD student Sarah Legge. Her research was published posthumously by her supervisors, in the journal Behavioural Ecology.

It is awarded annually to an RSB honours student, either to assist the student to undertake the Honours program, or to gain fieldwork experience after successfully completing an Honours degree in Ecology and Evolution at the ANU Research School of Biology.
