Research in the Division of Biomedical Science and Biochemistry (BSB) covers a wide range of disciplines, much of which fits within two broad themes: Host/Pathogen Biology and the Biology of Membrane Proteins.

BSB currently comprises eighteen research laboratories working in a range of areas, including microbiology, parasitology, nematode biology, immunology and cancer biology, membrane channel biophysics, membrane transport and nutrition, evo-devo, genetics and bioinformatics. Members of the Division convene and contribute to many of the courses comprising the Bachelor of Medical Science. Several staff hold appointments in the ANU Medical School and teach into the MBBS curriculum.
