Joseph Brock

Joe Brock studied a Bachelor of Medical Science at ANU before completing a PhD at the Research School of Chemistry (2007-2012), focusing on the structural and mechanism of a human detoxification enzyme. He then accepted a position at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, to work on the structure and function of integral membrane proteins involved in lipid mediator biosynthesis (2013-2017). He then moved around the lake to Stockholm University for a position in the lab of Dr David Drew, working on the structure and mechanism of integral membrane transporter proteins (2018).

Joe returned to ANU as a Lecturer and Group Leader at RSB in 2019.

Research interests

Joe's current research interests include the role of integral membrane proteins in human health and disease, and engineering them novel purposes using synthetic biology/
