Research School of Biology BioScholar program
The Research School of Biology offers a BioScholar program. The RSB BioScholar program aims support undergraduate ANU students identified by lecturers as having strong research potential and embed them within our research community by providing a paid immersion in hands‑on research and meaningful mentorship as a pathway for encouraging their progression into Honours and post‑graduation research training opportunities. The program will run for five weeks during the winter teaching break.
All students participating in the program will be expected to participate in a variety of shared social events and presentations.
RSB will annually fund up to six students to participate in the RSB BioScholar program, with no more than one student allocated per supervisor. Preference will be given to students undertaking BIOL programs whose grades are on track to meet the entry requirements of RSB honours (>70% average), and to those who have not previously undertaken a lab‑based research course or placement. PhB students are not eligible, as research courses are already a compulsory component of their degree.
Students will not receive course credit for this placement; however, they will receive a lump‑sum payment of $3,000 from RSB upon successful completion of the full five‑week program.
