Peter Baume Award

The Peter Baume Award is the University’s highest award for exceptional staff members and Alumni of the University whose contributions to the economic, cultural, scientific or social development of Australia or the international community have demonstrated distinguished service of the highest degree.

Distinguished Professor Graham Farquhar awarded a Peter Baume Award

Professor Farquhar is an ANU Bachelor of Science and PhD graduate and has been a staff member of the University since 1976. He is currently Head of the Environmental Biology Group in the Research School of Biology. His research output has been extraordinary and highly influential with his more than 200 papers attracting over 25,000 citations.

This award is in recognition of Professor Farquhar’s outstanding contributions to biological research and to global Climate Change Science in Australia and internationally.

The award was presented at a ceremony on 14 December 2011.
