Gilbert P. Whitley Memorial Student Award
The Gilbert P. Whitley Memorial Student Award is presented to encourage and support high quality oral presentations by students at the Society's annual conference. The award was instated by the Society in honour of the late Gilbert P Whitley. It initially provided an annual prize to the best oral presentation by a student at the Society's annual conference. In 1991 this was extended to two prizes, a senior prize and a junior prize. The award is currently sponsored by the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation.
