Sanduni Hapuarachchi (van Dooren, Lehane and Kirk groups) was awarded a speaker prize, and associated cash prize, in the Australian Society for Parasitology 'Parasitravaganza 2020' online conference. Sanduni won the People’s Choice prize for describing the role of a transporter protein in the “host heist” of cells by Toxoplasma parasites.
