After receiving my Ph.D I was recruited in 1974 by Dept. of Neurobiology, Research School of Biological Sciences, The Australian National University in Canberra, Australia, and from there moved in 1978 to Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen. After habilitating at the University of Tübingen in 1980, the University of Chur, Switzerland took me in as a Director. In 2004 I was elected a Vice Chancellor to build up a new University in Liechtenstein. Presently I’m an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Neurobiology, Research School of Biology, ANU, Canberra, Australia and Guest Professor at Karolingska University in Lund, Sweden.
