Weliton Menário Costa, PhD candidate in the Kruuk group, in the ANU Research School of Biology, has won funding from the Holsworth Wildlife Research Endowment to study the behaviour of eastern grey kangaroos, to see if reproduction and survival are influenced by personality traits such as how bold, sociable or exploratory they are.

'The project will allow us to address important questions in evolutionary and behavioural ecology, providing a substantial knowledge about natural marsupial populations,' he said.
