The distribution of radiation quality and quantity within plant stands is spatially and temporally highly variable and was investigated with a unique measuring system at high spectral, spatial and temporal resolution. The system setup, as well as the most important results, regarding the three-dimensional spectral radiation distribution and its interaction with biomass in a mixed beech-spruce stand will be presented.
