Description

The Controlled Environment Facility (CEF) is part of Plant Services. The CEF is located in building 046C in the R.N. Robertson building compound, and houses 20 walk in growth rooms as well as 47 free standing growth chambers, two communal laboratories and two autoclaves. This allows control over many aspects of the growing environment such as temperature, humidity, light and carbon dioxide. Fully qualified staff provide services such as environmental monitoring, watering, pest and disease control as well as horticultural advice.

Facilities are available for booking by all RSB staff, however other CMBE staff will be considered on a case-by-case basis if facilities are available. A small User Pays contribution is applicable to all usage. Those outside RSB may incur a surcharge.

For information on any of the facilities, booking inquiries, supplies and maintenance issues please lodge a request through MyServices (RSB members only) or contact the CEF Supervisor, Sue Lyons. Alternative contacts are Christine Larsen and Jenny Rath.
