Profile

Biography

Nur came to Canberra to study Biotechnology at The Australian National University. She was captivated by Australia’s native environment and the way Australians appreciate and engaged with their natural assets. Having had a taste and enjoying many aspects of research during Honours, Nur continues her study in PhD supervised by Profs Owen Atkin and John Evans. During her PhD candidature, Nur conducted overseas fieldwork in collaboration with University of Minnesota USA. She also attended the 2015 International Graduate Course on Forest Ecophysiology: From Cells to Ecosystems, organised by Parque Katalapi and the University of Concepción Chile. The course committee conferred Nur an Excellence Award for her outstanding performance and contribution during the course. Nur’s study is funded by Malaysian government scholarship.

Nur enjoys attending public lectures around campus on topics related to food production, sustainability, resource management as well as economy and happiness.
