Applying for Honours
You are able to commence your Honours year either in February or July. There are a limited number of Honours places available and there are limits on how many students a supervisor may take. Therefore, it is important to make your decision about Honours early.
For non ANU students the deadline for applications (February or July start the following year) is the end of November. For students currently enrolled at ANU the deadline for applications is the end of November (Feb start) or the end of June (July start of the current year).

There are two main entry requirements for Honours
- Satisfactory completion of your undergraduate degree. The Biology Teaching and Learning Centre can be contacted for advice on entry requirements. As a rough guide, you will need a minimum of a credit average in 8 Biology 2000 level and 3000 level courses.
- The agreement of a Research School of Biology Lab Leader to act as your supervisor (must fill out the Nomination of Supervisor Form). Projects primarily supervised by researchers from outside of the Research School of Biology (CSIRO, John Curtin School of Medical Research, The Canberra Hospital, etc.) may require a Research School of Biology lab leader undertake a co-supervisory role.
