Biotechnology is a broad area that encompasses the applications of new technologies to agriculture, food and medicine production, and environmental problems. This program provides solid grounding in the sciences that underpin biotechnology and provides the scientific background to areas such as agricultural and medical biotechnology. Both practical and theoretical skills are learnt in most courses, opening up career opportunities in research, industry and applied health sciences.
