The Member of the Order of Australia (AM) is awarded for service in a particular locality or field of activity or to a particular group. Howard Bradbury was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for service to science as a plant biochemist, particularly through research and the development of a test kit to measure levels of cyanide in cassava and other food crops.
