CO2 fixation and water loss of leaves
We are investigating aspects of carbon acquisition by plants including the biochemistry of CO 2 fixation and regulation of CO 2 diffusion into and within leaves. Current research topics include: - Studies on the biochemical regulation of C3 and C4 photosynthesis
- Physiological and molecular regulation of stomatal movement.
- CO2 diffusion inside leaves.

Understanding the cellular and genetic basis of differences in photosynthetic leaf capacity between Arabidopsis and a close mustard relative Hirschfeldia incana.
Aim: To use comparative analysis of Arabidopsis and a closely related mustard species, Hirchfeldia incana, to gain an understanding of what determines various aspects of leaf photosynthetic capacity and its environmental plasticity.
