ARC Centre of Excellence in Vision Science Scholarship

Value: $6,000 plus up to $4,000 relocation allowance

The ANU node of the Centre is offering scholarships to honours students. The stipend will be $6,000 plus up to $4,000 relocation allowance for students relocating from other states. Students are encouraged to discuss research opportunities with the relevant Chief Investigator at the Centre. Details of research projects and contact information of Chief Investigators in the Centre can be found on the Centre website.

Requirements: The applicant must be enrolled in an honours program at ANU, must be supervised by one of a Centre’s Chief Investigators, and must be working on a Centre related research project.

Application Process: All applications should be submitted to the Chief Operations Officer of the Centre through the proposed supervisor (a Chief Investigator in the Centre).

The application should contain: A recent C.V.; 200 words research proposal; Copies of transcripts; Two referee reports.

ISIS Honours Scholarships in Sustainable Urban Environments

The Fenner School of Environment and Society, with The ANU Endowment for Excellence.

ISIS (ISIS Group Australia Pty Ltd: isis.com.au) is sponsoring up to three Honours scholarships per year on a competitive basis, known as the ISIS Honours Scholarship in Sustainable Urban Environments. The scholarships are available to enable young researchers and practitioners to undertake quality research in areas pertaining to the sustainable management of urban areas, across a range of issues including (but not limited to) water, energy, buildings, planning biodiversity, waste management and environmental health.

The Scholarship shall be awarded by the Director of the Fenner School of Environment and Society in discussion with the School Executive, on the advice of the Associate Director (Education) and Honours Convenor.

The Director will take the following criteria into account when making a decision:

• candidate’s academic record;
• relevance of candidate’s research proposal;
• availability of suitable supervision.

Requirements: The Scholarship shall be available for award each year to all students who:

• have been successful in gaining entry into the Honours Year of a program through the Fenner School of Environment and Society;
• has an excellent academic record;
• is intending to undertake research in areas pertaining to the sustainable management of urban areas, across a range of issues including (but not limited to) water, energy, buildings, planning, biodiversity, waste management and environmental health;
• has willing and suitable supervision.

Application Process: Application in writing, of no more than one page, to the Fenner School Honours convenor (fennerschool-hpc@anu.edu.au), in addition to normal Honours application processes, in which the applicant describes their research topic and its relevance to Sustainable Urban Environment, their motivation for undertaking research in Sustainable Urban Environments, and the difference that award of the Scholarship will make to their research plans.
