Divisions

Biomedical Science and Biochemistry

An understanding of biological processes at a biochemical level underpin many advances in medicine. The members of the Division of Biomedical Sciences and Biochemistry conduct research in a wide array of disciplines, but fit within three main themes: Host/Pathogen Biology, The Biology of Membrane Proteins and the Biology of Vision. In addition members in this division are responsible for teaching most courses in the Bachelor of Medical Science and several teach in the ANU Medical School.

Evolution, Ecology and Genetics

Plant Science

Research in the Plant Science Division addresses a wide spectrum of topics of fundamental importance to plant function and performance in natural and agricultural environments. Understanding how plants respond to global climate change, both now and in the future, is a unifying feature of our research. We integrate a wide range of approaches, ranging from genomic and molecular technologies to studies of plant biochemistry, physiology, ecology and evolution.
